National Lok Adalats held

JAMMU, Dec 13: National Lok Adalats were held at Chenani, Bhaderwah, Majalta and Ramban.
CHENANI: National Lok Adalat was held at Munsiff Court Complex Chenani under the chairmanship of Sumati Sharma, Munsiff JMIC, Chenani.
A total of 23 criminal matters were taken up and all were disposed off. An amount of Rs 30,800 as fine was realized on the spot. Besides this 103 Traffic challans were also disposed off and a fine of Rs 33,850 was realized. 80 electricity bill cases were also mutually settled and an amount of Rs 1,23,900 as revenue was received. Tehsildar Chenani, BDO Chenani, BMO Chenani, SHO police station Chenani Inspector Mahesh Sharma, SHO police station Kud, AEE PDD Chenani, Sarpanchs and Panchs and general public were also present on the occasion.
BHADERWAH: National Lok Adalat was organized by the District Legal Services Authority, Doda under the chairmanship of Sanjeev Gupta, Principal District and Sessions Judge Bhaderwah. The Lok Adalat comprised of 15 benches in which cases of different nature were taken up for amicable settlement. As many as 1629 cases of different nature were taken up out of which 1488 cases were settled amicably. 210 pre-litigation cases of different banks were disposed off and an amount of Rs 1,04,42,201 was settled. 14 pending cases were also disposed and an amount of Rs 32,23,951 was settled for payment by the defaulters. 55 cases under MACT were taken up out of which 33 cases were disposed and an amount of Rs 74,82,000 was awarded. 56 cases under MGNREGA and SBM were disposed and an amount of Rs 6,78,319 was paid on spot to the beneficiaries. 198 cases under Electricity and Water Regulation Act were disposed of and an amount of Rs 5,87,945 was realized as fine. Besides an amount of Rs 1,81,150 was also realized as fine in Traffic challan, Labour and summary cases. 58 Civil compoundable cases, 1 Land Acq Case and 14 civil cases were also disposed off. In these Lok Adalats an amount of Rs 2,29,12,566 was awarded/recovered. On the occasion Sub Divisional Magistrate Bhaderwah, Tehsildar Bhaderwah, SDPO, SHO Bhaderwah and Senior and Junior Advocates of Bar Association Bhaderwah and prominent citizens of Bhaderwah besides large number litigants were present.
MAJALTA: National Lok Adalat held at the Munsiff Court Complex Majalta under the chairmanship of   Touseef Ahmed Magray, Chairman, Tehsil Legal Services Committee, Majalta. In the Lok Adalat, a total of 145 electricity cases, six bank recovery cases, 23 criminal compoundable cases, 306 traffic challans, 20 civil and 5 revenue cases were settled. As many as 505 cases were disposed off and an amount of Rs 22,07,547 was settled in different cases.
RAMBAN: National Lok Adalat was organized at District Court Complex, Ramban under the supervision of Chairman District Legal Services Authority, Ramban. Besides Bar Members, litigants and public, National Lok Adalat was also attended by other dignitaries of the District Administration. Four benches were constituted. The first bench was presided over by Kalpana Revo, Chairman District Legal Services Authority Ramban and assisted by AR Mushtaq Advocate, the second bench was presided over by Yahaya Firdous Chairman Tehsil Legal Services Committee Ramban and assisted by Arjun Raju Advocate, the third bench was presided over by Imran Wani Additional Special Mobile Magistrate Ramban and was assisted by Sajad Ahmad Advocate and the fourth bench was presided over by Assistant Commissioner Revenue Ramban and was assisted by AH Yatoo, Advocate. Besides this, Lok Adalats were also held at Tehsil Batote, Banihal and Gool. A total of 2591 case of different nature were taken up and were settled on the spot. Rs 85,31,269 was awarded as compensation in 23 MACT case and an amount of Rs 54,92,278 was recovered as compounding fine in other cases.
