JAMMU, Dec 11: All J& K Plus 2 Lecturers’ Forum has voiced concern over the transfers and posting of some lecturers during peak time of academic session and demanded a complete ban on the same.
“Mid-term transfers are badly affecting studies of the students and the Government must ensure that adjustment at this peak time of academic session is made only on the vacant positions,” said Kiranjeet Kour, president of the Forum, while addressing a press conference, here today.
She alleged that despite the Education Minister’s categorical statement that transfers would be affected in June-July in Jammu Division and in January-February in Kashmir Division, the Department was issuing transfer orders on pick and choose basis for the reasons best known to the concerned authorities.
The Forum president pointed out that a number of transfers against other subjects, ordered in July-August this year by then Director School Education, had already affected the educational activities in the schools.
Kiranjeet Kour, who was accompanied by other members of Central body of the Lecturers Forum, also highlighted some other issues and demands of the Plus Two Lecturers.
She demanded enhancement of the grade pay of Principals and declaration of their post as non vocational, removal of pay anomaly of lecturers in Physical Education, benefit of Running Pattern in favour of Plus Two cadre, filling up of the vacancies of lecturers by direct recruitment and adjustment of lecturers promoted through DPC for smooth running of academic activities in the schools.
The Forum also demanded that the tenure of all the lecturers and officers of Plus 2 Cadre in Ladakh and other such areas be fixed as one year.
Condemning the incident in Panchari (Udhampur) and Vijaypur (Samba) where Superintendent and Dy Superintendent, engaged for the conduct of HSP-ll exam, were attacked by some students, the Forum demanded stern action against the culprits and foolproof security to the Supervisory Staff engaged for the Board exams. In case of failure in this regard, the Forum would be forced to exercise other options such as total boycott of all BOSE exam, the central body warned and demanded shifting of such centers to safer areas or declaration of these centers as Hypersensitive and deployment of Paramilitary Forces and proper accommodation to the staff engaged for the conduct of exams, especially in remote and farflung areas.
The Forum also expressed concern over inordinate delay in regularization of all Jt Directors, Chief Education Offices, Principals and lecturers serving in the Incharge capacity in the School Education Department etc for years together and stressed that orders in this respect be issued at the earliest.
