JAMMU, Dec 7: An Art Exhibition was organized by Viraj Kala Kendra (Regd.), Jammu at Viraj Art Gallery, Gandhi Nagar, here in connection with a week long celebrations of Birth Anniversary of Late Vidya Ratan Khajuria, an eminent sculptor, artist and a writer of the State.
Fifteen artists of various disciplines of art like painting, sculpture, print and collage participated in this exhibition. Prof. Rita Jitendra, former Secretary, J&K Academy of Art, Culture & Languages was the Chief Guest and T S Batra and S.Amrik Singh Namdhari, well known artists were the special guest and guest of honour respectively.
The works of Late V R Khajuria,Late Gobind Kaur, Jang S. Verman, Raj Bharti, Rohit Verma, Milan Sharma, Reecha Gupta, Darshan Singh, Suresh Sharma, Sahil Ohri, Dhananjay Sharma, Anuradha Devi, Sanjay Kotwal, Rajinder Pal Singh, Rohit Sharma, Anup Kumar Gupta and Lovesh Sharma have been put on display in the exhibition depicting various moods in the art works. The works have been executed in different mediums by the artists for expressihg their feelings and ideas. The Exhibition has been coordinated by Suresh Sharma and curated by Jang S. Verman.
Speaking on this occasion, Raj Bharti welcomed the guests and highlighted the activities and programmes undertaken by the Kendra. Mrs Rita Jitendra bleessed the artists and hoped that much more such activities will be arranged in future also. T S Batra and Amrik Singh also spoke on this occasion.
O P Sharma, Director, JKCCA, artists Suman Gupta, Nisha Soni, Susham Sharma and others were prominent among the community present on this inaugural function.
The exhibition will remain open till 9th December, 2015.
