JAMMU, Dec 5: Viraj Kala Kendra,  in connection with a week long celebrations of birth anniversary of  Late Vidya Ratan Khajuria, an eminent sculptor, artist and a writer of J&K State, organized clay model making competition at Viraj Art Gallery, here today.
About150 children of different schools participated in this competition. N D Jamwal was the chief guest on this occasion, while Prof Rita Jitender was the guest of  honour.
Ceremonial lamp was lighted and floral tributes were paid to  Late  V R Khajuria by the guests and the artists including Amrik Singh Namdhari and Jang S Verman among others.
The function started with the welcome of the guests by  Raj Bharti, president, Viraj Kala Kendra, Jammu. In her address she said that Viraj Kala Kendra is working for the promotion of art and culture for last many years. She said that the Kendra is catering free facility to artists to display their art at Viraj Art Gallery. Various art competitions, workshops, camps and seminars for children and artists at local, State and national level have been organized by the Kendra.
The results were announced on the basis of selection of  Vikas Khajuria, a known sculptor of the State.
ND Jamwal and Rita Jitender while speaking on this occasion blessed the participants and the winners of  the competition divided into junior, sub- senior and senior groups.
