JMC continues drive against violations, encroachments

JAMMU, Dec 1:  On the instruction of Mandeep Kaur , Commissioner Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) and under the supervision of R.S Jamwal, Joint Commissioner (Adm), the Enforcement Staff led by the Chief Enforcement Officer and Enforcement Officer of JMC undertook a drive against unauthorized constructions / violations.
During the drive the team demolished the RCC Slab of unauthorized construction raised in the side set back area at 63 B/D Gandhi Nagar, Jammu under the provisions of J&K Control of Building Operation Act, 1988. The demolition has been conducted with the help and co-operation of Police Force from Gandhi Nagar, Police Station and from district Police Lines Jammu.
Besides this, the team had also undertaken the anti encroachment drive to remove the encroachments from pavements / footpaths and road sides in the areas of Bikram Chowk, Nai Basti, Satwari and Shastri Nagar, Jammu. During the drive the team had seized one truck load of goods / articles like chairs, cycles, containers, mattresses, creates, weigh scales, counters, benches etc and impounded the same in the Municipal store in JMC which were kept by the shopkeepers by encroaching the footpaths / pavements etc in front of their establishments.
