SAMBA, Nov 28: Up in arms against scrapping of reservation in promotions, members of SC/ST/OBC and others reserved categories held a protest rally under the banner of All India Confederation of SC/ST/OBC Organisations, here today.
Distt Samba people from various social and religious organizations and political leaders across the party line, participated in mega rally, which was also addressed by representatives of different organizations.
They asked the Government to take remedial measures to protect their Constitutional rights and privileges, which were being debarred by the pronouncements of judicial judgments of High Court of J&K.
While speaking, the district president of the Confederation, Girdhari Pangotra alleged that the Government has utterly failed in protecting the Constitutional rights and privileges of the reserved categories in the Court of Law.
Hasham Ali, member State Advisory ST Board; former Minister Yash Pal Kundal, Narinder Pandab, Haji Allaha Rahim, Ramesh Chander, Charan Dass, Haji Bashir Mohd, Dr Bansi Lal, Vinod Mishra, Mohd Sadiq and others also addressed the rally.
