JAMMU, Nov 27: A protest demonstration was held by the Jammu West Assembly Movement workers against the State CAPD and Union Food Ministries for non supply of sugar, rice, atta, Kerosene oil at Government Ration Depots for the last three months and against the hoarders, black-marketers of the CAPD ration as also rising prices.
Addressing the protesters, Sunil Dimple, president, Jammu West Assembly Movement demanded the State Government to implement the Food Security Bill in the entire State and not in the selective districts.
Dimple alleged there is no sugar, kerosene oil and ration in the Government depots for the economical weaker section and for the people of the State and particularly in the Jammu region for the last three months.
He demanded the at least 2 kg sugar and 40 kg atta, 30 liters kerosene oil on every ration card, as the families have become larger and 20 kg atta is not sufficient for the combined families with 15 to 20 members as the ration cards have also not been bifurcated by the Government.
He stressed to issue new ration cards to the people.
Dimple said the prices of the eatable items have broken the back bone of the common man.
He demanded to take effective steps to control rising prices and to exempt Sale Tax on the sale of LPG gas, petrol and diesel to relieve the common man of the State.
