JAMMU, Nov 27: JKNPP held a protest demonstration, here today lambasting the Government for its refusal to respond to the genuine concerns of the teachers, Education Volunteers and ReTs, appointed under SSA and RMSA, who have been deprived of their hard earned wages for the last more than eight months.
While addressing the protest demonstration, JKNPP State president, Balwant Singh Mankotia announced that the Panthers Party shall continue its agitation for the cause of teaching community at every district headquarters till the Government agrees to fulfill all pending demands of ReT teachers.
Mr Mankotia lamented that despite repeated representations of the aggrieved ReTs to the top functionaries of the Education Department for redressed of their genuine grievances, the Government did nothing and instead resorted to harassment and humiliation of the community. “The Panthers Party shall fight shoulder to shoulder with the aggrieved teachers and ReTs in their struggle for justice,” he said and sought an early release of their salaries.
The Panthers leader claimed that the ongoing agitation by these teachers had adversely affected the academic activity in various schools of the State causing immense loss to the students.
On the occasion, Mr Mankotia also announced that next protest dharna of Panthers party will be held at district headquarters Kathua on November 29 at 11.30 am opposite District Development Commissioner Office.
Others who spoke, included Ram Pal Bhagat, Joginder Sharma (Sarpanch), Jagdev Singh Jagga, Maha Deep Singh, Baldev Singh, Krishan Singh, Amarnath Mehra , Deepak Singh and Mohinder Singh.
