Dr Jitendra Singh disclosed that, as on date, in the first phase, “Bhavishya” was introduced in the main secretariat of 83 Ministries/Departments as well as 17 Attached Offices involving 783 DDOs. The web application, he said, has so far processed and issued Pension Payment Orders (PPO) in respect of 652 pensioners and in due course, all the DDOs in all the Central Ministries/ Departments numbering over 9,000 would be brought under the ambit of Bhavishya and all the DDOs in various Ministries /Departments of Central Government would start using this online facility.
The “Bhavishya” system, Dr Jitendra Singh said, will not only introduce transparency and accountability in the pension sanction and payment process but it will also enable the pensioner to track and follow online the progress of his pension case. Similarly, the administrative authorities will also find it easy to accomplish the pension preparatory procedure and subsequently provide retirement benefit and monthly pension after retirement.
After the full implementation of Bhavishya system today, Dr Jitendra Singh announced that the Department of Pension & Pensioner’s Welfare (DoP&PW) will be in a position to know, in advance, the number of employees retiring from the Government of India during the next 12 months and also remain updated about the status of each of these cases. The system offers the facility to view the pensionary service online and at the same time, the forms of processing can also be submitted online. The system will enable a retiring employee to keep himself informed about the progress of his pension process case through SMS or e-mail, he added.
