Srinagar, Nov 8: An educational-cum-motivational tour for girls was flagged off today by Army in south Kashmir’s Shopian district.
A defence spokesman said the tour was flagged off by Brigadier K Venugopal in presence of other prominent Military and Civil administration officials as also the parents, guardians and teachers of the students, who will be visiting various places in Chennai over a period of 12 days.
The 15 girl students were thrilled at the prospect of exploring the city of Chennai which they had so far only heard and read about and said they were eagerly looking forward to north to south journey.
Among other places, they will also be visiting the Army Public School and Medical College and interact with the faculty and student body to facilitate an exchange of ideas, the defence spokesman added.
