JAMMU, Nov 4: Lashing out at Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and State as well as Central leadership for spreading rhetoric of “discrimination” with Jammu region, Kranti Dal (KD) today questioned the BJP’s silence for almost six months over the issues pertaining to Jammu region.
Talking to reporters here today, State president, Kranti Dal, Pritam Sharma, said that credibility of BJP by its own ministers has gone precipitously down, as in a short span many anti-Jammu or discriminatory decisions were taken but these Jammu-based BJP ministers, who raised many slogans in favour of Jammu region during Assembly and Parliamentary elections in the State, were tight lipped over these issues.
He blamed both the Centre and the State Government for their utter failure to revive the Jammu tourism industry which perhaps suffered a great set back with the extension of rail-link to Katra.
“The ongoing tourism projects which were started with a view to attract tourists to make Jammu as an independent tourist destination are facing total neglect by the ruling Government,” he alleged and hoped that a financial package would be announced by the PM during his upcoming visit to the State to boost development in Jammu region.
