RAMBAN, Nov 1: The body of a missing driver was fished out from the river Chenab near Seri area here this afternoon.
As per police sources, a Tata Mobile vehicle bearing registration number JK19-3245 plunged into river Chenab at Mehar area on October 19 and later submerged in the river. The vehicle was driven by Mohammad Yousuf (48), son of Dullah of Maitra, who also remained untraced since then.
Some passerby noticed a body floating on the Chenab shore this afternoon and informed the police.
After getting the information, police team also reached the spot, fished out the body from the Chenab and shifted it to District Hospital.
After conducting autopsy, the body of the deceased was handed over to family members for last rituals.
However, the vehicle is yet to be located.
