NEW DELHI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi and a host of dignitaries from Bollywood, cricket fraternity and politics today graced the high-profile wedding reception of off-spinner Harbhajan Singh at a posh city hotel here.
The highlight of Harbhajan’s reception was the Prime Minister’s visit amidst a blanket of security in and around the venue.
Modi arrived late and blessed the couple before leaving after spending some time interacting with the high-profile guests at the venue.
Among the first to arrive at the venue were former India captain and Harbhajan’s one-time teammate Anil Kumble and his wife and former Punjab Director General of Police KPS Gill, who also served as President of the banned Indian Hockey Federation.
Also present at the reception were Indian cricketers Murali Vijay, Cheteshwar Pujara, Ajinkya Rahane and his wife, Ravichandran Ashwin and his father, Team India Director Ravi
Shastri, Indian Premier League Commissioner and Congress MP Rajeev Shukla and his wife, pacer Munaf Patel and former India captain Kapil Dev among others.
Besides out-of-favour Yuvraj Singh and India Test captain Virat Kohli, Bollywood celebrities like Amitabh Bachchan, Shah Rukh Khan and Priyanka Chopra are on the guest list. (AGENCIES)
