J&K youth have immense talent but need opportunity: Jitendra

JAMMU, Nov 1: Union Minister of State for Development of North Eastern Region (DoNER), MoS PMO, Personnel, Public Grievances, Pensions, Atomic Energy and Space, Jitendra Singh today observed that youth from Jammu and Kashmir have immense talent but need opportunity.
“It is a strange contradiction that most of such youth from J&K who move out to other parts of the country, do exceedingly well and make a distinct mark in their respective fields, whereas back home, their talent goes either unnoticed or underutilised,” Dr Singh said while addressing a youth interaction programme “Anuvartan” here.
He said,”whether engineering, civil services or journalism, cinema or art, J&K youth are second to none and now, with the coming in of Multi-National Companies (MNCs), our boys and girls are occupying high positions as executives.”
“Time has come to find answers to this contradiction,” said Dr Singh and added,”this because, for too long, we have got conditioned to depend on Government jobs but with the passage of time, on the one hand youth unemployment has increased while on the other hand, Government employability has became less and less supportive.” (AGENCIES)
