Abolition of interviews

Sir,
Reference editorial DE Oct 13 regarding abolition of interview from the process of recruitment for non-technical and non-gazetted posts for the purpose to eliminate the element of corruption that always remains attached in appointments. Modi Ji’s proposition to minimise the slur of  corruption by abolition of interview in recruitment process, seems highly logical and result-oriented. Ailments like favouritism, nepotism, regionalism and corruption often make the process of recruitment unfair and disgusting.
Faithlessness in the system is so acute and deep that it becomes unbelievable for any gentleman to expect justice in such situations. Poor and backless candidates  feel disappointed and hopeless sensing that justice is a remote possibility for them. If merit-cum-qualifications is made as a criteria for selection and transparency is exercised, the graph of corruption directly or indirectly, remains associated with the system in such events, can be minimised. However, in the event of interview being must, atleast, the quantum of marks such agencies enjoy, can be reduced to half so that chances of irregularities and unfairness can be minimised.
The system really needs a change. Abolition of interview or reduction in marks assigned with the recruiting agencies/authorities can lessen the grievances generally people have after every such recruitments. Good governance means justice to all, and for that streamlining of the systems is more important than chasing the men concerned engaged for the purpose.
Yours etc…
