NEW DELHI, Oct 11: Prime Minister Narendra Modi today made a courtesy call on former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee and former Union Minister George Fernandes on the occasion of the birth anniversary of Loknayak Jayaprakash Narayan.
Both the stalwarts had worked shoulder to solder with Loknayak during the emergency days. Bharat Ratna Vajpayee and Mr Fernandes are confined to bed for a long time due to age related medical conditions.
Prime Minister had last made courtesy call on Mr Vajpayee on Dec 25, 2014 on the occasion of his birthday, which was celebrated as good governance day.
President Pranab Mukherjee visited the former Prime Minister’s residence on March 27 this year to confer on him the nation’s highest honour the Bharat Ratna. (UNI)
