JAMMU, Oct 4: Miran Sahib police arrested the kingpin of Dilbagh Group–a gang involved in various criminal offences in J&K and Guwahati. A country made pistol (desi katta) was also recovered from his possession.
As per police sources, on specific information, police team from Miran Sahib police station arrested a notorious criminal along with country made pistol (desi katta).
The accused has been identified as Dilbagh Singh, son of Janak Singh, a resident of Simbal Camp. He was evading his arrest since long and was wanted in FIR Numbers 73/15 and 80/15 registered under Sections 307, 341 and 147 RPC and 3/25 and 4/25 Indian Arms Act with Miran Sahib police station.
He was the kingpin of Dilbagh Group–a gang which is involved in various criminal cases registered with different police stations in J&K and Guwahati. Various types of criminal cases including attempt to murder cases stands registered against the members of the gang.
On August 24, one of the associates of the gang identified as Pawan Sharma alias Depu, son of Ashok Kumar, a resident of Ward Number 2, Bhour Camp was arrested. He was wanted in various cases registered with Miran Sahib police station and other police stations including RS Pura, Samba, Gandhi Nagar, etc. Two cases of under Section 307 RPC also stands registered against him with Miran Sahib police station.
The members of the gang identified as Harvinder Singh alias Badu and Tajinder Singh alias Jinda, both residents of Simbal Camp and Saurav Gupta, alias Shammi, a resident of Nanak Nagar are still absconding and manhunt is going on to nab them.
The group is active in the State since 2009 and some cases also stands registered against the members of this group at Guwahati.
The rival of this group is led by Paramjeet Singh alias Sunny of Bhour Camp, who is presently in jail under Public Safety Act (PSA).
The arrest was made by SHO Miran Sahib police station SI Hilal Azhar under the supervision of SDPO RS Pura Harjeet Singh, SP Headquarters Randheer Singh and SSP Jammu Uttam Chand.
