Police arrests 2 drug peddlers, recovers 120 kgs of poppy stray

KATHUA, Sept 29: In continuation to staunch drive launched by the District Police Kathua to nab the drug peddlers, acting on a specific information, a Police Party of  P/S Hiranagar led by SHO laid down a naka on National Highway near Chapper Morh, today.
During the naka it intercepted a Truck Tralla bearing registration No. HR55R/3060 and during search of vehicle police  recovered  120 Kg Poppy Stray from the possession of Gourav  Sharma S/o Jagdish Raj R/O Sanik Colony Jammu and his associate Balbir Chand S/O Prem Chand R/O Chanderkot, district Ramban. Both the accused person have been taken into custody and a case FIR No. 94/2015 u/s 8/15 NDPS Act stands registered at P/S Hiranagar against them.
The vehicle utilized for the transportation of poppy straw has also been seized by P/S Hiranagar. The drive has been carried out under the supervision of SP Kathua, Ms. Neeva Jain-IPS and SDPO Border, DySP Shri Diwakar Singh.
