Training course for KAS Probationers concludes at Police Academy

Jammu, Sept 19: One week Police Training course for Junior Scale KAS Prob. Officers batch 2015 concluded today in Radhavinod Raju Auditorium of Sher-i-Kashmir Police Academy Udhampur.
Total 59 officers belonging to Jr. Scale KAS of 2015 from IMPA Jammu and IMPA Kashmir along with 17 KPS officers of batch 2015 attended the course. The basic objectives of the course was to expose the future administrative officers to the Police working and synergise the thinking and working of the police and administrative officers of different department in the field during the desperate times as well as association of ethos and traditions.
The officers, during one week course, were apprised about the issues related to Election, E-governance, Disaster Management, Govt. Business Rules, Ethics in Public Administration, Police bandobast , security arrangements during political rallies, religious processions, Civil Military liaisoning, Management and Human right, Apart from these, the officers were given demo on Riot Control Drill, Explosives, Disaster management etc. The officers during the course were also trained in handling of AK-47, MP-5 , Glock pistol and firing from Glock Pistol. There was also display of weaponry both lethal and non lethal being used by the J&K Police. On the eve of the concluding day a colourful cultural programme was organised in the auditorium in which both KAS & KPS officers displayed their talent and which was followed by Director’s Dinner.
The valedictory ceremony started with the welcome of the chief guest by the Director Rajesh Kumar, IGP, S.K. Mishra, DGP (Prison)-J&K graced the occasion as chief guest. In his valedictory address, he called upon the future administrative officers to imbibe some human values at the very outset of their career and advised them to work with honesty and integrity and also be ethical, reliable, enthusiast, respectful, humble, punctual. He impressed upon them to show the distinction between personal life /social life and public life. He further advised the officers to work hard for the development of the state as its development would lead to development of the nation.
Shiv Kumar Sharma, SSP, Asstt. Director(Admn.), Ravinder Kumar Rao, Dy. Director Prosecution ,Asstt. Director (Indoor), faculty members ,staff and trainees were also present in the valedictory function. Course Coordinator and Course Secretary of the one week Police training course of KAS officers were R.C Kotwal, SP and Kamal Sharma, CPO respectively. Humera Yaqoob Associate Professor, IMPA presented the vote of thanks at the end of the ceremony.
