Public service prime duty of JKP: IGP

JAMMU, Sept 19: Inspector General of Police (IGP), Jammu, Zone, Danesh Rana said that public service is the prime duty of J&K Police with the active cooperation of the people.
He stated that the police force has succeeded in bringing peace and it is their endeavour to keep the peace maintained at all levels.
He also assured that police will further intensify anti-drug campaign which has already been undertaken and also sought cooperation of the society to eradicate the same.
IGP was speaking in a meeting held at Spiritual Growth Centre, Katra this evening, which was attended by prominent citizens of Katra town. He was accompanied by Sujit Kumar, SSP Reasi, Sumir Kotwal, Additional SP Katra, Dr Ashok Sharma, SDPO Katra, Inspector Kuldeep Krishan, SHO police station Katra.
The people expressed their concern about drug menace in society and assured their full support and participation in tackling any unlawful or untoward incident.
The people also raised concern about traffic congestion in the Katra Town especially by auto-rickshaw drivers on Banganga road, to which IGP assured them that their concerns will be looked into and necessary directions will be issued.
Later, crime review meeting was also conducted by the IGP at Katra and participants were briefed to finalize the all long pending cases related to various offences.
