JAMMU: An Army officer of Colonel rank and five others, including a Captain, were awarded life imprisonment in much publicised Machil encounter case.
Colonel Dinesh Pathania, Captain Upendra, Havildar Devendra Kumar, Lance Naik Lakhmi, Lance Naik Arun Kumar and Rifleman Abbas Hussain today have been awarded life imprisonment, Col S D Goswami, Northern Command based defence spokesperson here said.
He said the General Officer Commanding in Chief, Northern Command Lt Gen D S Hooda has confirmed the sentence of the Summary General Court Martial in the Machil Encounter case. (AGENCIES)
