KATHUA, Sept 3: The irate students of Government Degree College Hiranagar held a protest demonstration and blocked the Jammu, Pathankote National Highway for two hours against the shortage of teaching staff in the college.
The protestors raising slogans against the Government warned to launch agitation in case the lecturers were not posted in the college immediately as half of the academic session has passed.
They said that delay in posting of lecturers on the basis of academic arrangements will force them to intensify the agitation. They accused the Government of deliberately playing with the career of the students.
The students later lifted the road blockade after SDM Hiranagar and senior police officers visited the spot and assured them that they will take up the issue with the concerning officers.
