MENDHAR, Sept 3: Mortal remains of Mehmood Rana (former SWD Director), brother of MLA Mendhar Javed Ahmad Rana and Dr Masud Ahmed Choudhary, Ex-Vice Chancellor of BGSBU, were laid to rest at his native village Kalaban this evening.
A large number of people from all walks of life thronged Mendhar town in the morning to offer Namaz-e-Janaza and convey their condolences to the bereaved family. They included Omar Abdullah, Nasir Aslam Wani, Mushtaq Ahmed Bukhari, Devender Singh Rana, Jahangir Hussain Mir, Ajay Sadhotra, Sajad Ahmed Kichlo, Choudhary Talib Hussain, Rashpal Singh, Ajaz Jan, Ch Abdul Ghani, Liaqat Choudhary and many others from Jammu, Rajouri and Poonch.
After Namaz-e-Janaza at Mendhar town, the body was taken to the native village Kalaban where hundreds of locals offered Namaz-e-Janaza and laid the mortal remains of Late Rana to rest.
Meanwhile, National Conference has expressed solidarity with NC leader and MLA Mendhar Javed Rana on the demise of his brother, Mehmood Rana. NC working president, Omar Abdullah condoled the demise of Mehmood Rana and express solidarity with MLA Mendhar, Javed Rana. He prayed for peace to the departed soul and spent time with Mr Rana and his family.
NC president Dr Farooq Abdullah has expressed grief and sorrow over the demise of Mehmood Rana and expressed solidarity with Javed Rana and his family in this moment of loss.
