JAMMU, Aug 30 : J&K Police today handed over a 20-year-old girl of Punjab and a 14 year old boy of Poonch, who have left their respective residences due to distress over some issues, were handed over to their guardians.
According to SHO Bus Stand, Inspector Paramjeet Singh, a 20-year old girl identified as Sapna Devi daughter of Vijay Kumar, a resident of Jawahar Nagar, Ludhiana, Punjab, was found roaming at Bus Stand last evening while a 14-year-old boy identified as Shabaz Ahmed son of a Special Police Officer, Mohd Safeer, a resident of Sathra Mandi, Poonch was also found wandering in Bus Stand area two days back.
According to the officer both the girl and the boy had left their homes after they were rebuked by their guardians over some matter. He said after hectic efforts the police managed to win the trust of the both the girl and the boy, who revealed their stories and later disclosed their addresses.
The SHO said the girl was handed over today to her maternal aunt identified as Simroo Devi wife of Ishru, a resident of Sumb, Phalain Mandal, in outskirts of Jammu while the boy was handed over to his father.
The whole operation was conducted by a police team led by SHO Bus Stand, Paramjeet Singh under the supervision of SDPO City, Perveet Singh Parihar and SP City, SK Chauhan, and overall supervision of Incharge SSP Jammu, Rajiv Pandey.
