KISHTWAR, Aug 30: The Kishtwar Civil Society has reiterated its demand of bringing the various religious places in the twin districts of Doda and Kishtwar under the pilgrimage map of the country to boost the local economy of the people in the remote areas of twin districts by promoting the pilgrimage tourism.
The Civil Society which met here today under the leadership of Shamsher Singh Bhandari its senior member and a senior Congress leader said that the there are many ancient and renowned religious shrines in the two districts which included Machail Mata Shrine, Sarthal Mata Shrine, Kailash Kund, Mani Mahesh, Chamunda Mata and various other famous shrines. These shrines be included into the pilgrimage map of the country and brought under the shrines board so that round the year pilgrimage is promoted in the area to boost the economy of the people.
The meeting also demanded proper arrangements be made for Gori Kund and Mani Mahesh Yatra. It said the role of SSP Kishtwar Yugal Manhas was extra ordinary for the smooth conduct of recent Machail Yatra.
