JAMMU, Aug 30: All Kashmiri migrant relief holders held a meeting at Jagti Township today which was presided over by Sunil Pandita. It discussed various problems faced by the relief holders.
Addressing the meeting Sunil Pandita reiterated the demand of conducting Ward / Panchayat type elections in all the Migrant Camps. He said the conducting of these elections was notified by the Relief authorities vide NO.RRCM/PA/11/550 dated 25.11.2011 and the authority had in principle agreed to hold elections in camps so as to enable the displaced people to elect the representative of their choice but unfortunately till date the said elections were not conducted, resulting in to emergence of multiple pseudo and self styled leaders.
Sanjay Raina expressed his concern over the prolong delay in implementation of employment package and demanded immediate declaration of appointment list for which interviews and written tests were conducted in last Winter. He also demanded special package for over aged youths. He said about 15000 migrant employees have retired since 1990.as such the Government should not hesitate in providing jobs to the migrant educated youths
Ajay Bhat criticized Centre and State Governments for their silence over the rehabilitation of Kashmiri migrants and said the migrants were expecting speedy decisions by the present Govt. in this regard but till date nothing has been done for their permanent rehabilitation.
Among others M.L.Ganjoo, O.N.Moti Sunil Kumar, Sunil Raina, Rajander Pandit ,Rakesh Koul, Ramesh Jee, Rinku Jee, T K Bhat, Sanjay Raina Kaka Ji also spoke in the meeting.
