Woman injured in bear attack

RAJOURI, Aug 29: A woman was injured after she was attacked by a full grown bear in Thannamandi area of district Rajouri today.
Sources said that middle aged Makhna Bi, wife of Baraf Din, resident of Marhote had gone to nearby forest area with her cattle. She was collecting green grass for the cattle when a beer ambushed her and took  to his nearby hideout. The wild beast torn her clothes and caused multiple injuries on her body. The beer had licked her face, feet and other parts badly. She had started bleeding.
She raised alarm and some villagers with lathis reached there and managed to rescue her. The injured woman was removed to Thannamandi hospital for treatment. She was later referred to District Hospital, Rajouri.
