JAMMU, Aug 25: A toys godown gutted in fire near Super Bazaar in Purani Mandi area due to short-circuit, resulting into loss of goods worth several lakhs.
As per police sources, Satish, son of Makhan Lal of Lakkar Mandi noticed smoke emitting out in his toys godown near Super Bazaar in Purani Mandi area this evening.
He informed the police and a team led by SHO City Police Station Inspector Shakti Devi rushed to the spot and also informed the Department of Fire and Emergency Services.
Three fire tenders along with fire fighters reached the spot and after hectic efforts, brought the fire under control.
No injury or casualty has been reported in the incident, while the exact loss could be ascertained yet.
A case in this regard has been registered at City police station and investigation started.
