POONCH, Aug 10: The people from Surankote area including Beopar Mandal members held strong protest against the BSNL authorities and locked local telephone exchange at Surankote town today.
Reports said that a large number of people from Surankote town of district Poonch, came out on the road and launched massive protest demonstration against the BSNL authorities. They alleged that the BSNL’s land line, Mobile and internet services have turned from bad to worst in the area. Despite repeated requests, officer from the BSNL never bothered about the public plight. There seems to be no officer at the senior position monitoring the services.
Neither JTO, SDO nor TDE of the area care about the issue. The telephone exchange remains out of order for the days together. Due to worst internet services the ATMs and other baking services have been badly hit. With the frequent call drops, voice cracking and unwanted replies during connectivity, the Mobile phone users are facing hardships. They said even the top officers sitting at the BSNL office in Jammu have turned deaf ear towards worst condition of BSNL services in Poonch district. They alleged that people are getting fatty mobile and land line bills but there is no proper service. They resolved to file a PIL against BSNL in the State High Court.
The people including Beopar Mandal members after holding strong protest outside main telephone exchange put a lock on it and then registered an FIR against the company at Police Station Surankote.
