JAMMU, July 18: Expressing disillusionment with the much hyped PM Modi’s visit to Jammu, NPP chairman and former minister Harshdev Singh said that the same has proved to be a damp squib and left the people of Jammu region a disappointed lot.
In a press statement here today the NPP leader said that there was much ado about a massive financial package to be unfolded by the Prime Minister on his Jammu visit apart from announcing the most coveted AIIMS for the region. He said that people’s enthusiasm was at its peak as they expected the announcement of first ever financial package in Dogra land as all such announcements in the past used to be made in Kashmir in the name of winning over the hearts and minds of the people of Kashmir.
Terming the much publicized visit as a fiasco, Mr Singh said that Saffron Party had once again belied the hopes and aspirations of people of Jammu region. He gave a clarion call to the people of Jammu in general and Panthers Party workers in particular to rise to the occasion and to launch a decisive battle for realization of the denied parity and for ending the age old discrimination against Jammu. Urging the people of Jammu to oppose, expose and depose the opportunist BJP, he said that it was the same party which had been donning the mantle of ‘messiah’ of Jammu while in opposition.
Balwant Singh Mankotia and Yashpal Kundal said that the ‘Fight for Jammu’ shall include all Jammu related issues including equitable allocation of state resources, end of all regional bias, State Subject right to WPRs, comprehensive settlement of PoK refugees, Dogra certificate to Jammu youth, abolition of custodian department, parity in compensation to Jammu migrants, smart city for Jammu, regularization of Jammu region SPOs and daily wagers etc.
