JAMMU, July 15: Police nabbed a man along with illicit liquor pouches from Fawara Chowk area, falling under the jurisdiction of Akhnoor police station.
As per police sources, police team from Akhnoor police station laid a naka at Fawara Chowk and intercepted a pedestrian on suspicious grounds.
During checking, police recovered 21 pouches of illicit liquor and arrested the bootlegger, who has been identified as Suram Chand, son of Krishan Lal of Chack Bhagwana, Jourian.
The accused was carrying the liquor pouches to his native place for sale among masses to gain illegitimate profits.
A case under FIR Number 126/15 under Section 48-A Excise Act has been registered at police station Akhnoor and investigation started.
Police team led by SHO Akhnoor police station Inspector Pushpinder Singh made the arrest under the supervision of SDPO Akhnoor Naresh Singh and Incharge SSP Jammu Rajiv Pandey.
