JAMMU, June 25: Police rescued four persons from swollen river Tawi near Sidhra.
As per police sources, due to heavy rain in upper reaches, the flow of river Tawi was raised due to which four persons got trapped in the strong currents of river near Sidhra bridge.
After getting information, Incharge SSP Jammu Rajiv Pandey rushed to the spot and after driving the tractor himself rescued all the four trapped persons from the river Tawi.
Mr Pandey was accompanied by SDPO Nagrota Bharat Bhushan Sharma and DySP City Perbeet Singh in this rescue operation.
The trapped persons, who were rescued by the police have been identified as Balbir Singh, son of Anar Singh of Shakti Nagar, Parshotam Lal, son of Om Parkash of Janipur, Jagdish Raj, son of Bua Ditta of Raipur Mandi and Jamat Ali, son of Khasm Din of Dansal.
The tractor (JK14C-4959), in which these trapped persons were traveling was still lying in the strong currents of water.
