Zulfkar inspects site for Gujjar, Bakerwal hostel

SRINAGAR, June 22: Minister for CA&PD and Tribal Affairs, Ch. Zulfkar Ali today asked concerned officers of Tribal Affairs Department to prepare a Detailed Project Report (DPR) for the construction of Gujjar and Bakerwal (G&B) girls hostel at Harwan. He called for fencing of the proposed premises immediately.
The Minister gave the directions during his visit to Harwan to inspect the proposed site for construction of Gujjar and Bakerwal girls hostel. He asked DC Srinagar to provide adjacent vacant land for proposed girls hostel for construction of school for tribal students.
The Minister was accompanied by Secretary CA&PD, Deputy Commissioner Srinagar, Secretary Tribal Affairs besides senior officers of different departments.
Zulfkar said that efforts are being made for the overall development and welfare of the tribal communities including creating employment avenues to the tribal youth through various skill development initiatives.     Earlier, the Minister also held a video conference with DCs to review the verification process of ration cards and asked them to expedite the process and complete it before 25th of this month. He asked DC Udhampur to personally monitor and ensure timely supply and distribution of ration to Marwah, Dachan and other areas.
Zulfkar also directed the Deputy Commissioners to constitute special market squads to intensify market checking during the holy month of Ramadan.
