JAMMU, May 26: The team of Jammu Forest Division today removed 39 hoardings and sign boards raised illegally on the Forest land from Nagrota to Domail on Jammu-Srinagar National Highway.
Official sources said that the team led by two Range Officers under the supervision of DFO Jammu Dr V S Senthil Kumar removed 39 hoardings with the help of JCB and other team members and seized the material. These boards had been raised illegally on the Forest land in violation of Forest Act.
The DFO said that notices were served to the owners of these boards some time back (on April 17) but despite seeking some time they did not remove them at their own. Today the operation was launched and the confiscation proceedings were initiated. It was discovered that some middlemen were earnings huge money from the companies in violation of the Act.
