More heroin recovered

JAMMU, May 15: After busting of cross-border narcotic smuggling racket on May 8, police today recovered 1.573 grams of heroin on the disclosure of trans-border smuggler lady taking the total recovered consignment to 5.688 kilograms.
According to SSP Jammu Uttam Chand, the woman trans-border smuggler arrested on May 8 by Khour police identified as Preeto Devi, wife of Late Sarfu Ram of Camp Khour during interrogation at Joint Interrogation Centre (JIC) revealed hiding of more heroin packets near her residence in Khour area.
On her disclosure, police team from JIC headed by DySP Zahid Saif Wani along with SDPO Akhnoor Naresh Singh and SHO Khour police station SI Mohammad Iqbal Chagatta conducted raid and seized two packets of heroin weighting around 1.573 kilograms, he said, adding that total seizure of heroin reached around 5.688 kilograms in this case.
However, one more person namely Ajeet Kumar alias Kala, son of Om Parkash of Khour involved in this racket is still absconding and will be behind the bars soon, SSP added.
Further investigation into the case registered under 29/15 under Section 8/21/22 Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act with Khour police station is going on, Mr Uttam Chand maintained.
It is to mention that, on May 8, Khour police busted a cross border narcotic smuggling racket with the arrest of aforesaid lady and recovery of 4.115 kilograms heroin, Indian currency to the tune of Rs 89.45 lakh and 9 mobile phones from her house at Khour.
