PRP to continue struggle for rights of common masses: Mir

GANDERBAL, May 2: Peoples Republican Party (PRP) today said that the politicians who are exploiting the working class and labour for their vested interests and have been responsible for their plight in the State are front runners in observing the May Day by calling themselves as champions of working class.
Addressing a workers rally organized by Trade Union Wing of the Party here today, Mir Ghulam Rasool Butwani chief spokesman of the Party said that those responsible for the miseries of laborers are claiming to be the champions of their cause.
He said the plight of working class especially the laborers in unorganized sector is becoming miserable day by day due to wrong policies of government. He said that the situation will only improve when the working class will have its own representatives in government. Mir said for this unity among the working class is need of the hour.
He said the 26 year long turmoil in the State coupled with the anti working class policies of successive governments has led to the present miserable condition of working class in the State and present government should take corrective steps so that they get justice and State is put back on rails.
Mir urged the Government to pay attention towards eradication of unemployment. He also expressed concern over worsening power scenario in the State and said instead of asking power projects back from NHPC, “We should demand due share in power on cheaper rates so that State is fully compensated for water and land used by NHPC”. Besides, 75 percent youth of the State be absorbed by the NHPC on technical and non technical posts, he added.
Mir reiterated that Ganderbal be made base camp for holy Amarnath pilgrimage and a permanent bus yard and yatri Niwas be constructed here for the purpose. He also demanded fruit industry be given impetus in the State.
Mir said that PRP will continue its fight against the onslaught of capitalism and anti poor and anti people policies and work for betterment of common man.
He also extended full support to PRP chief Advocate G M Tramboo in strengthening the Party. PRP leaders who addressed the rally included, Abdul RazakDar, Arshad Sherazi and Mushtaq Ahmed Dar.
