JAMMU, Apr 23: A meeting of Executive Committee of State Health Society was held here today under the chairmanship of Commissioner/Secretary Health & Medical Education, Shantmanu to review the physical & financial progress of various initiatives under National Health Mission for the financial year 2014-15.
Detailed presentation on physical & financial progress under National Health Mission, J&K was given by Dr. Yashpal Sharma, Mission Director, NHM.
It was informed in the meeting that out of the total availability of Rs 382.27 crore during the FY 2014-15 an amount of Rs 333.24 crore (87 %) stands utilized.
The meeting also deliberated on the various issues pertaining to establishment of Skill labs, nursing nodal centres at Govt. Medical College Jammu and Srinagar, procurement of equipments for District Early Intervention Centre’s (DEICs), procurement of essential drugs, review of utilization of funds under 13th Finance Commission award, construction of Maternal & Child Health wings, establishment of Blood Storage Centre, implementation of National Urban Health Mission in the State and timely release of funds.
Mr Shantmanu expressed satisfaction over the achievements registered by NHM and assured to remove bottlenecks for its successful implementation. Commissioner/ Secretary directed for strengthening of First Referral Units & 24×7 PHCs in the State.
