Army jawan shoots self to death

JAMMU, Apr 21: An Army jawan allegedly committed suicide by shooting self with his service rifle, here last night.
According to Incharge police post, Rehari, Inspector Rattan Singh, the Jawan identified as Sepoy Kisan Namado, a resident of Sherawadi in Nasik, Maharashtra, allegedly committed suicide at about 9.50 pm last night by firing a round from his service rife while on duty at 660 regiment, Amphalla, Jammu, where he was posted.
In unconscious condition, the blood ridden jawan was immediately shifted to MH Satwari, where doctors declared him as brought dead. The body of the deceased jawan was today shifted to Government Medical College and Hospital, Jammu, where after conducting postmortem the body was handed over to Army authorities.
Police has registered a case in this regard and started investigations.
According to the sources, the deceased jawan had returned from home on March 27 after availing part of his annual leave, adding he had put in 18 years of service in the Army and was to retire in February next year.
Sources said that that Sepoy Namado is survived by his wife, a seven-year-old son and a four-year-old daughter.
