JAMMU, Apr 8: Consumer Affairs and Public Distribution (CAPD) Department today conducted a drive against commercial establishments in various parts of city outskirts and imposed penalty to 20 of them.
The drive was conducted by a team of CAPD Department headed by Attam Dev Singh, Deputy Director (Supplies), Jammu along with Mohd Iqbal and Hans Raj, Assistant Directors and Area Inspectors, Rajinder Kumar, Gian Chand Khajuria, Ravi Kumar and Subhash Chander.
The team inspected about 57 commercial establishments in the areas of New Plot, Muthi, Janipur, Bakshi Nagar, Subhash Nagar, Patoli, Mishriwala, Domana, Paloura and Rehari, and imposed penalty on 20 commercial establishments for violation of various provisions of Essentials Commodities Act. A fine of Rs 18800 was also recovered on the spot from the defaulters.
