KEEWA for pensionary benefits to PDC employees

Excelsior Correspondent
JAMMU, Apr 5: Kashmir Electrical Employees and Workers Association (KEEWA) has expressed its serious concern over the failure of Government to provide pensionary benefits to the employees and workers of Power Development Corporation (PDC) whose lean is in Power Development Department (PDD).
The Association leaders including Mohammed Javed Shah, Mohammed Shaban Bhat, Nazir Ahmed Magrey Mohammed Sultan and others said that while transferring the employees from PDD to PDC by Government it was announced that the lean of these employees will continue to be in PDD and an order to this effect was also issued by the Government in this regard.
But not keeping its promise the Government failed to provide pensionarybenefits to these employees on their retirement and they were treated as employees of Corporation which is total injustice with them.
The Association said that their counterparts who worked with them in PDD for one or two decades are entitled to get all perks and benefits including those of pensionary benefits after retirement while those transferred to PDC were deprived of the same.
A delegation of the Association also called on Deputy Chief Minister, Dr Nirmal Singh here recently and apprised him of the problem. It demanded that Government should keep its promise made with these employees while formation of PDC in 1990.
The Association leaders said that there was no logic in Government’s decision to deprive the employees of the benefits as they had not given any option to work in PDC but were transferred by the Government.
