RAJOURI, Apr 2: In order to ensure directions of State High Court regarding functioning of private tuition centers, a special squad of district administration today conducted surprise raids at several tuition centers of Rajouri town.
Reports said Deputy Commissioner Rajouri, Deepti Uppal constituted a special team of district administration headed by ADC Mohammad, Saleem Malik and assisted by ASP Tejinder Singh and CEO Rajouri, AH Fani, which conducted surprise inspection in different tuition centers of Rajouri town including SR College of Competition, HGS Mandolia Coaching Center, SIC Coaching Center, PP Coaching Center, A Square Coaching Institute, Arihant Coaching Center and some other tuition centers of Rajouri town and took stock of basic facilities being provide to the students as per 2010 Act and also the registration of these centers.
During inspection few of the visited centers were found close while rest were not having any registration certificate as well as there was no better provision of basic facilities for the students. It was found that in most of the visited tuition centers, there were no proper separate sitting arrangements for girl students as well as separate washing and toilet complex.
It was also noticed that CCTV cameras were not installed in these tuition centers while most of these are situated in congested streets and buildings. Some of the visited tuition centers were also located inside shops and houses which were observed by the visiting team and a report in this regard is being compile which will be submitted to DC Rajorui for further action.
Meanwhile, a joint committee comprising Tehsildars and Zonal Education Officers (ZEOs) was constituted by DC Doda, to inspect the coaching and tuition centres within their respective jurisdiction.
After inspection, these officers will furnish report to DC Doda within two days. The Chief Education Officer, Doda shall ensure that all the ZEOs are informed timely submission of compliance report jointly while the Tehsildar Headquarter Doda shall inform all the Tehsildars of the district and ensure submission of joint compliance report to DC within prescribed time period.
