NEW DELHI : A moderate intensity quake, measuring 5.1 on the Richter scale, struck Chamoli district in Uttarakhand today.
The tremblor, which shook the region at 0254 hrs, was epicentred at 30.2 degrees north latitude and 79.4 degrees east longitude, said the India Meteorological Department in a statement.
Its focal depth was 10 km, the statement added.
