JAMMU, Mar 26: A delegation of RBA people from across Jammu Division led by Kewal Sharma, social activist and Swarn Singh Bhau, BJP general secretary met Minister for Social Welfare and Forests Bali Bhagat and put forth their demand of reducing the time gap of 15 years of newly married females from non RBA to RBA areas.
The delegation also demanded that the income ceiling may be increased from Rs 4.50 lakh to Rs 7 lakh and the GAD order No 18/2006-I Dated 27-02-2006 may be scrapped.
Kewal Sharma invited the attention of the Minister towards the said order due to which rights of more than lakh of women folk living in more than 2200 villages of J&K are infringed. The delegation also informed the Minister that this case was also discussed in Legislative Assembly and Legislative Council.
Minister gave a patient hearing and assured the delegation that he will look into the matter personally.
Among others present were Ajeet Singh Slathia, BJP Rural Vice President, Raju Arora BJP Leader and PN Pandita.
