BOSE conducts prog on State Open Schooling

JAMMU, Mar 26: Jammu and Kashmir Board of School Education (BOSE) has launched open schooling for school dropouts, older persons, persons in employment to enhance their chances of promotion, disadvantaged groups, failures from the formal system of education from the divisional offices located at Rehari Colony, Jammu and Old Campus, Lal Mandi Srinagar. This facility at first instance is available across the State through a network of 38 selected Government institutions.
In this connection, a three days interaction-cum-orientation programme of heads of the institutions, SOS coordinators and tutors of accredited centres located in 10 district of Jammu division was conducted. A total of 70 participants took part in this programme.
Dr Yasir Hamid Sirwal, Nodal Officer, J&K State Open Schooling through his presentation inspired the participants with the mission, objectives and functions of State open schooling.
He stressed upon the mission taken by the BOSE to initiate open learning system to augment opportunities for further education, democratize education and make it a life-long process thereby help tens of thousands of students, who have dropped out of the formal system or those who cannot attend a regular institution.
