KARGIL, Mar 21: The stranded passengers between Kargil to Jammu and Srinagar since February 10 today staged a protest here at Lal Chowk here.
Hundreds of passengers including students assembled at Lal Chowk with their bag and luggage held demonstration and jammed the traffic for one hour. But no official or officer of Kargil administration attended them.
The passengers including patients, students and others had got ticket of AN32 in the month of February but till now they could not leave as the Airforce did not allot any AN32. Since then, the stranding passengers have been attending airport daily in the morning but returning in evening disappointed.
One Hamida Banoo said that her daughter failed to get admission in Jammu due to apathy of airforce. Another student passenger, Mohammad Mustafa said that he had proposed to complete his studies but the AN32 has washed his dreams. “It is strange that AN32 has been landing in Kargil for Army for last few days but they did not allow civilians”, he added.
