JAMMU, Aug 2: The dead body of a minor girl was recovered from canal in Kartholi area, under Bari Brahmana Police jurisdiction today.
A police spokesman said that a local noticed the body floating near Kartholi industrial area and informed police. The police party reached there and shifted it to hospital. It was discovered that this girl namely Sita (5yrs), daughter of Vishav Parsad, resident of Chhatisgarh and presently at Marble Market, Trikuta Nagar Ext, Jammu had drowned in the canal last evening.
The family had informed police at Trikuta Nagar about the matter and they were searching for the girl. The body after performing legal formalities was handed over to the family this evening.
