There is no doubt about it that the unprecedented Delhi election results have sent shock waves throught the political circles in the country. Results are bound to prove as speed breaker for Modi’s juggernaut.
There is general perception that BJP’s worst ever performance in Delhi elections is due to its performance in MCD, over confidence, total dependence on Modi magic and last minute induction of some personalities in Delhi elections.
As a matter of fact after historic Parliamentary elections and wins in some state elections (Jarkhand, Haryana, Maharashtra and J&K) Delhi BJP leaders and activists almost went into hibernation and did not start its election compaign till the election notification was issued. But at the same time soon after the Parliamentary elections AAP leadership restlessly compaigned and strengthened its base in Delhi in a well planned manner.
Kejriwal’s thumping victory in Delhi has of course given the regional parties a new life and a good chance to unite and give BJP a tough fight in coming elections in Bihar and Bengal.
Let us wait and watch as how Mr Modi negotiates the challenge posed by the unprecedented Delhi results.
