JAMMU, Feb 16: Police arrested a narcotic smuggler along with 500 grams of charas from Green Belt Park area, falling under the jurisdiction of Gandhi Nagar police station.
A police spokesman said that, police team from Gandhi Nagar police station intercepted a pedestrian on suspicious grounds near Green Belt Park area.
During checking, police recovered 500 grams of charas and arrested the accused.
The narcotic smuggler has been identified as Iqshash Faiz Bhut, son of Faiz Ahmed Bhut, a resident of Achabal, district Anantnag.
A case under FIR number 39/15 under Section 8/20 Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act has been registered at Gandhi Nagar police station and investigation started.
Police team led by SHO Gandhi Nagar police station Inspector Paramjeet Singh made the arrest under the supervision of SDPO Gandhi Nagar Harjeet Singh, incharge SP South Udhay Bhaskar Billa and SSP Jammu Uttam Chand.
