JAMMU, Aug 1: A minor girl was raped allegedly by her uncle at village Shankoja under the jurisdiction of Bhaderwah police station in Doda district this morning.
Police said the 14 years old girl, hailing from village Shankoja had gone to graze cattle in the forests when her uncle identified as Sudesh Kumar, son of Lekh Raj R/o Shankoja finding her alone, overpowered and committed rape on her.
After committing the crime, the accused fled from the spot. Later, the victim returned home in semiconscious condition, where she narrated the incident to her parents, who immediately informed the police.
Police sent the girl for medical examination and handed her over to her family members. Police conducted raids and arrested the accused. A case has been registered against him under Sections 376/364 RPC at Bhaderwah police station.
