JAMMU, Feb 16: To express their resentment against the alleged injustice in recent order of adjustment of surplus Masters, Jammu Kashmir Teachers Forum held a protest demonstration at the office complex of CEO Jammu, here today.
The protesting teachers, led by the Forum general secretary Ganesh Khajuria, raised slogans against the School Education authorities and demanded suitable adjustment of the Masters, who have already served in the far-flung areas.
Asking the authorities to withdraw the adjustment order, the Forum threatened to further intensify the struggle if the unjustified order is not reviewed. In this connection, a dharna was announced to be held at the Directorate of School Education Jammu on February 19.
While addressing the protesting Masters, Ganesh Khajuria said that despite repeated representations to the officers at the helm of affairs, the aggrieved Masters have been victimized again. “Instead of adopting a rational approach, the Government has ordered posting of surplus Masters in remote schools once again even as they had already served in the far-flung areas,” he explained and demanded immediate review of the adjustment order.
The demonstration was also addressed by Pt Mukund Lal Sharma and Maheshwar Prasad of All J&K Ladakh Teachers Federation. They appealed the teaching community to remain united and fight collectively against the injustice meted out to aggrieved Masters.
Others who addressed the protesting Masters, included Rajinder Gupta, Gopal Singh, Surat Singh Toofani, Darshan Sharma, Jamat Ali Agha, Zakir Peer, Ishiaq Rashid, Bharat Prasad, Gopal Sharma, Rajesh Slathia, Ashok Kharyal, Manmohan Singh, Indiver Mishra, Monika Sharma, Meera Sharma and Kamini Kumari.
